From May 27 to 29, Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, was hosting the international tourism exhibition Riyadh Travel Fair, which brought together more than 30 thousand participants from 50 countries. It was the first time that a delegation from the Northern Capital of Russia - tour operators and hoteliers - took part in this largest event in the Middle East. Art Travel Ltd was glad to be part of it. At the colorfully decorated thematic stand of St. Petersburg, prepared by the Congress and Exhibition Bureau of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, visitors, attracted by folk Russian melodies performed live by St. Petersburg musicians, could get acquainted with actual travel offers from the largest tour operators and hotels of St. Petersburg. The St. Petersburg stand was constantly surrounded by visitors. Russia is a new vacation destination for Middle Easterners, and it is rapidly gaining popularity. We were happy to tell our guests about both classic excursion routes and new programs and types of tourism. Residents of Saudi Arabia are among the countries that may enter Russia with an electronic visa, what makes traveling to Russia much more accessible. Great interest was shown by both travel companies and private individuals, mostly young and middle-aged people who consider Russia as an opportunity for individual travelling and for family vacations with children. The majority of visitors said that Russia is a very beautiful country. They have a very positive attention to Russia and eager to visit it. Art Travel Ltd was pleased to represent the cultural richness of St. Petersburg at the exhibition in Riyadh and expects an increase in the number of guests from Saudi Arabia in the nearest months.

Art Travel together with Pulkovo Airport and Turkish Airlines have hosted a group of tour operators from Istanbul in St. Petersburg. The guests have already been to Russia before - in Moscow. They were impressed by St. Petersburg, our colleagues were delighted by the unique atmosphere of the Northern Capital. The programme was varied: visits to classic sights, trips along rivers and canals, exploring new modern spaces, golf and other entertainment. St. Petersburg has opened up for guests from a new, exciting side, and we are proud to have been a part of this successful journey!

The procedure for obtaining an electronic visa was approved in the fall of 2020, and the system was planned to be launched in 2021. The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of issue, but you are allowed to stay in Russia with it for no more than 16 days. The list of states, whose citizens will be able to apply for the single electronic visa includes 52 countries. It will be possible to cross the border through any specially equipped checkpoint, regardless of the region, and to travel across the country. In January 2021 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Russia prepared a system of issuing a universal single-entry electronic visa for foreign citizens, designed for short stays, but its launch in practice will depend on the epidemic situation.
